Course RPAS 060 (Basic Safety)

Course Description:

This one-day in class course is primarily geared toward those who are planning to fly their drones under the restrictive “Basic Rules” protocol stipulated by Transport Canada.

In addition to preparing you to pass the Basic Online exam, you will learn valuable information, lessons, and standard operating procedures from the RPAS professionals.

RPAS 060 Basic will ensure you will be more prepared for complex decision making. Proper training in RPAS is cridical to avoid costly errors

The investment of this training  lesson will vastly improve your safety of flight, and reduce your risk no matter where, or what Remotely Pilot Aircraft you fly.

Our expert instructor will ensure you are on the right path going forward.

COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:

  • 1. Intro to RPAS/Flight Theory
  • 2. Air law in Canada
  • 3. Navigation for RPAS (situational awareness)
  • 4.  Meteorology for RPAS
  • 5.  Pilot Factors/accident prevention/ Strategic Risk Management

 

After successful completion, students will receive a certificate of training, and can apply it as credit toward more advanced training programs such as RPAS 101 and 200.

(Cost: $275 plus GST)

  Basic operations? 

 If you meet all 3 of these conditions, you're conducting basic operations:

  • 1. You fly it in uncontrolled airspace (including 3 miles from airports, and 1 mile from heliports)
  • 2. You fly it more than 30 metres (100 feet) horizontally from bystanders
  • 3. You never fly it over bystanders
